232 Strängar

  • Friday 19:30, Miklagård

The duo 232 Strängar (strings) brings us on a spectacular journey from the deep forests of Värmland to the open fields of Skåne. Winding melodies from the violin travels tightly together with the tunes of the piano, creating an attractive branch of todays folk music.

The music tells of emotions both bright and dark in a blend of breathtaking waltzes, rattling schottisches and melancholic tunes. Since both musicians also are inspired by jazz, among other music styles, you can also expect some portion of improvisation, creating interesting arrangements and exciting rhytmics.

The number of musicians are two, but nevertheless has their music a width and colourfulness far greater than can be imagined.

Frida Höfling & Emma Engström met at Skurup folk highschool and have spent the last years playing together at festivals, dancecourts, churches, schools, nursing homes, cafés and trains all around Sweden.
