Murhaf Fanous & Friends

What´s the result mixing a Syrian song with Bulgarian improvisation? What´s the sound of a Polish mixed with a Daichovo horo?

The focus of this concert is the Syrian musician Murhaf Fanous from Lattaika, Syria, with roots in Palestine. He plays guitar, percussion and sings, and brings songs from different parts of the Arabic, often based on famous poems of love, freedom and longing for a home country. Since 2011 Murhaf lives in Umeå, enriching the cultural life of the city. 

In this concert the trio explores the folk music of Västerbotten inviting both Syrian and Bulgarian traditional music in a new cooperation.
