Try singing to accompany dancing

  • Saturday 14:15 in Balder

In all times man has sung, in everyday life and at festivities, in happyness and in sorrow. Singing has through time been used as the fantastic instrument it is to, together with dancers, make the dance floor move and turn. Singing to dance is an old tradition in folk music. When there was no one able to treat a fiddle, the songs where sung by one or several singers. Now a days it´s less common, unfortunately, since the voice is an instrument easy brought, in its very unique case! Voice and body - two great instruments that go well together. The singing swirls around getting its physical expression in the bodies of the dancers. In this workshop you get to try singing one or two or several different kinds of melodies. It is open for everyone, no matter prior knowledge.

Welcome!
